Waiting On Wednesday + Blue Bloods

Might as well start doing this, too. *smiles*

The Secret Circle: The Captive Part II and The Power by L.J. Smith
(courtesy of the author's site: ljanesmith.net)
Adam and Cassie have sworn not to love each other for the sake of their beloved leader Diana. But Faye has caught them in their one embrace. Now she uses it to blackmail Cassie, forcing Cassie to lie to Diana and to dig up the strange crystal skull that gives them all such dangerous visions. Meanwhile, students are being murdered, and the witches are under suspicion. And Faye wants from Cassie the ultimate betrayal: her vote for Faye as coven leader.

And then....Faye rules the Circle, while Diana reels from Cassie’s apparent treachery. Cassie and Adam are drawn more strongly together than ever. A new principal appears who seems to know all the Circle’s secrets and is dedicated to persecuting them. Cassie, no longer the shy girl she was only a few months ago, takes charge in solving the murders, the mystery of the crystal skull, and the true meaning of the Secret Circle. Her reward is her dream come true. (which, I assume is Adam. If so, then wooot!)

So, I can assume from reading the second summary that Faye becomes the Circle's leader. Well. This book comes out relatively soon. Ranging from two days to a couple weeks. I loved The Initiation and The Captive Part I!!! I love all of L.J. Smith's books actually. She's my favorite author, after all. I think that this book would be perfect for witch lovers, or for those who aren't huge fans of hugely supernatural monsters. No vamps. No weres/shifters. Just witches. And maybe a few ghosts, but still. I have a feeling that Adam will choose Cassie, because, well, she's the main character, but I still can't wait to read more about them! If Diana wasn't around, then they would be the most absolutely perfect couple. I don't have anything against Diana, though. AND, if any of you have read Spellbinder from the Night World series, and liked Blaise, then you will be pleased to find that Faye is almost exactly like Blaise. Congrats. OMG, I am going to get this the day it comes out. That means that I'll have to go to Borders on multiple days, but it is so worth it.

(from B&N)
Schuyler Van Alen is confused about what is happening to her. Her veins are starting to turn blue, and she's starting to crave raw meat. Soon, her world is thrust into an intricate maze of secret societies and bitter intrigue. Schuyler has never been a part of the trendy crowd at her prestigious New York private school. Now, all of a sudden, Jack Force, the most popular guy in school, is showing an interest in her. And when one of the popular girls is found dead, Schuyler and Jack are determined to get to the bottom of it.
Schuyler wants to find out the secrets of the mysterious Blue Bloods. But is she putting herself in danger?

I haven't been a fan of, y'know, "clique-y" books. Ones that are snobby, and are set in New York and crap. But this one is very good. I didn't read it at first because I expected Schuyler to change from the weird and cool person she is. Get "Mimi-fied", if you will. Well, she did change but I think it was for the better. I love how the book wasn't all in Schuyler's POV. I loved hearing from Oliver's POV, because I love him and I think he is good competition for Jack. Oh, Jack. I love him, too. I wonder how Schuyler will ever choose... Oh, well. Not my problem. This book (and plot) is a huge frickin mystery to me. It's like, WHO IS THE CULPRIT??? Who turned Schuyler's friend to a Silver Blood? Is he alive??? Why are there deaths going on??? Oh, it is SO confusing. But I love it. And you will, too. Just remember, if you are apprehensive of this book, it isn't snotty. Yay no snot!
