Day Four! Gosh, I make it sound like Survivor...

Don't I, though? Reviewing is fun, and I love sharing my thoughts about books so I think that it is really funny that I'm making this month sound like torture. It isn't. It's fun, actually. Although, I've come to realize that my reviews are going a bit wacky. See, it seems that now when I talk about a book that I really love, everyone else is all iffy about it. When I say that I hate a book, everyone wants to read it. I'm considering using reverse-psychology, but I don't have the patience for that. And thank you to TruBlu! I will get around to doing that tomorrow and I'm so happy that you nominated me!

I'm hanging on to Day Four by the skin of my teeth. Anyone notice that it's almost midnight?

ARE YOU UP to your neck in bloodsucking vampire stories?

Tired of those tales about dentally enhanced dark lords?

Before I wrote this book I thought all vampires were night-stalking, fangpopping, bloodsucking fiends. Then I met Morning McCobb. He’s a vegan vampire who drinks a soy-blood substitute called Blood Lite. He believes staking should be a hate crime. And someday he hopes to march in a Vampire Pride Parade. He was also the first vampire to out himself and try to show people of mortality, like you and me, that vampires are just another minority with special needs. Trust me—this is like no other vampire book you’ll ever feed on.

So, as my buddy Morning says, “Pop the lid, and suck it up.”

Now for the review, Taylor says. Heh heh. Wow. Anywho, I think that a C is an appropriate grade for Suck It Up. It was definitely humourous, and definitely original. I'll give it that. But aren't there stories where you just want the stories to end up badly so that the characters don't have a chance anymore? Well, I thought that at times. Seriously, I hate books where there are parts that are so embarrassing that I have to close the book and turn away. In Suck It Up, vampires have different powers. They can CD which is short for something that I don't care about which basically mean shape-shift. There is one embarrassing part of the book where Morning McCobb (quite the name, btw) is being pressured to turn into a wolf but accidently turns into a dalmation and starts getting pelted by objects from the audience of a concert. There is also a point (big spoiler) where Morning and Portia (whatsherface. hope thats her name.) kiss and he achieves "maximus dentus eruptus (or eruptis, whatev)". That was on the back of the book and that is what sold me. Anyone read King Dork and/or Fanboy and Goth Girl? Well, put Chi-Mo and Fanboy together, sprinkle in some fangs and you've got yourself Morning McCobb. I don't care much for Portia or her mom, but you can't always love all of the characters of a story. This story is funny and a nice break from more serious vampire books. And it's a stand-alone! You need this if you are trying to get away from series like I am!

Tomorrow, what shall I do tomorrow? Hrmm...

Hearts&Circles,
Tay-Toe (haha! I still have six minutes to spare!)
